Drivers use their own vehicles and operate under the software app of the TNC. Premium is determined based on mileage.
Period 1: Ride-Hailing App is On
Driver has turned on the app and is waiting for a ride request.
Period 2: En Route
Driver has accepted a ride and is on the way to pick the person up.
Period 3: On Trip
The passenger(s) are in the vehicle and being driven to their destination.
The Auto Liability Premium will be charged on exact mileage.
Each Transportation Segment (P1, P2, P3) will have a separate per mile rate as each is based on liability exposure.
The Transportation Network Company Insurance Program will not provide Auto Liability Insurance for personally owned vehicles when not working under the TNC authority and their application. Drivers will be required to maintain their own auto insurance and should look to write with a insurance carrier that allows this operation and offers to add a Ride Share Endorsement to the drivers personal auto policy.
